Sweet Little Girl Cake

A birthday cake for a 4years old girl. It was ordered by my nephew's teacher for her beloved god-sister.
Hmm.. His teacher really loved this little girl!! She had came to me with a 2 full pages of proposal for the cake. Hahaha... I do not have to use my brain to think again....The main item are the little girl lying on the grass drawing and her younger brother playing cars next to her.. Really reminds me of my own children. :)
Then we have a little pink bear, holding a yellow balloons sitting next to the little girl. She also requested a little bunny hopping around, with flowers, bees and butterflies....Such a nice settingNot to miss out the rainbow as well. Also, a basket full of strawberries. Interesting theme... A very happy birthday to you, RuiYi!!

My 1st cake decorating lesson

I’ve never thought of attending any cake decoration class if not for the fact that I chanced upon the beautiful works of others decorated cakes, with those cute figurines using fondant/sugar-paste, when sourcing for a cake for my darling daughter. It was not a cheap one though, but my hubby gladly pays for the cake. During that time, I was in preparation for the birth of my 2nd baby and not in the most appropriate moment to pick up a new skill. It was only when my hubby brought home the cake I had order from another lady on-line, I was simply hooked and determine to learn how to decorate a cake!!

It was only after my maternity, and then I got my hands on to learn cake decoration. I started out with the most basis, ie. The Wilton Method of Cake Decorating – Course 1. However, prior to this, I do not have any previous experience and the 1st cake I decorated was a disaster. I didn’t even know that what I had prepared for the 1st cake decorating class was actually only “crumb-coating” of the cake. Hahaha.. and it looks funny. The stars on the cake was a more beautiful sight though.. Hurray, a beautiful starts to the path of cake decorating…
